The District Judge who ordered a recount in Michigan, ruled out his earlier order and called for a halt in the recounting process as he determines that the Green Party candidate Jill Stein has no basis or legal standing to call for recounts in the ballot. The judge agreed with the Republican lawyers who argued that Jill Stein came fourth in the state with around 1 percent of the votes and the recounting will not make her a winner, hence she isn’t an “aggrieved” candidate and she couldn’t present any evidence of misdoings or hackings. Hence the court unanimously ruled against a recount saying that the Stein camp presents speculative claims going to the vulnerability of the voting machinery, but not actual injury.
A court hearing will be held on Friday over Jill Stein’s recounting request in Pennsylvania. But with theMichigan recount halted Donald Trump remains the narrow victor in the State. For Hillary Clinton to win the Presidency, Trump needed to lose all three states in the recounting process.
