First daughter and White House adviser Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner and their future after their stint in the White House have been heavily speculated as of late. Prior to her father becoming president years back, Ivanka shared a little bit about her relationship with Jared.
Vogue writer Jonathan Van Meter recalled a conference in which Ivanka joked about her husband’s attempt to be romantic, which also indicated how business was an integral part of their relationship. The soon-to-be first daughter at the time joked that her husband’s idea of a perfect date was to look at the sites he was developing. Everyone who was present during the conference was also well aware of how business was important to both of them. Ivanka recalled that they could be on their way to a restaurant in New York one moment, standing on the roof of a grocery store the next.
“So my husband’s idea of a date night somehow always involves me looking at one of his development sites,” shared Ivanka. “And he’s showing me a giant site he just bought. I’m like, ‘Huh, so this is why you chose that restaurant.’” Her anecdote was met with laughter from the attendees.
The couple were first introduced to each other back in 2007 and started dating shortly afterward. They married in 2009 during which Ivanka converted to Judaism. They have three children together and currently serve as White House advisers in the Trump administration. Ivanka once described their marriage as “the best deal they’ve ever made.”
Following her father’s loss to Joe Biden during the elections, the big question posed when it comes to Ivanka is what she and her husband plan to do next after leaving the White House. A piece by the New York Times has revealed that the couple is planning to expand their home in Bedminster, New Jersey. This comes with increasing speculation that the couple may no longer be welcomed back in New York high society. The couple had to relocate to Washington DC when Donald Trump won the presidency in 2016 when they became White House advisers.
