A report came out in previous months claiming that Obama went out not wearing his wedding ring because he and Michelle are on the rocks. Follow-up rumors were later published, and with allegations that go as far as insisting, there is a $150 million fortune involved in the separation. It should also be noted that Obama has explained early on that it has been his habit to temporarily remove his ring if he is attending a public event where he has to exchange pleasantries with many people to avoid losing his wedding band.
However, just scrolling through the official social media pages of the Obamas is enough proof that the reported divorce was not true. They celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in early October and shared social media posts for another to mark the milestone.
Barack Obama, Michelle Obama buy $11.75 million home at their favorite vacation destination
It was widely reported last week that the former first couple closed a deal to purchase an $11.75 million seven-bedroom home located in Martha's Vineyard. The deed filing obtained by Forbes indicated that the purchase was finalized in November, and the Obamas got a 21 percent discount as the house was originally listed for $14.85 million. The house itself measures 6,892 square feet while the property covers 29 acres of land with private access to the beach.
The Obamas are not new to the Massachusetts island since they visited the place several times before for vacation. They are also familiar to their new home, previously owned by Boston Celtics lead owner Wyc Grousbeck, because they reportedly rented it for the former president’s 58th birthday last Aug. 4.
